What am I studying here?
Creating the magazine layouts
For your magazine you will need to create the following things:
For the covers you will need to find 3 images that represent your magazine. These images need to be of a high quality. You will also need to create your masthead and work out how it fits in with your images. Please use the grids opposite to work on.
You need to come up with three ideas for spreads. You must be discerning when choosing what these are because they are going to be the selling point for your pitch. In reality you are choosing three different ideas of things that may appear in your magazine. These could be articles, interviews, fashion stories, product reviews etc. To sell your idea you should be as diverse and clever as possible. For each idea you should use real copy for the headline but fake text for the body copy. Please use the grid opposite.
Evidencing P2 in your blog
P2 Create a proposal and client documentation to support the pitch.
With this assessment criteria you will need to put a copy of the proposal (proposal document) and creative pitch (magazine covers and spreads) in your blog.
You should write about how you created it and how it will be useful when pitching your idea and presenting to the client. You should talk about how your idea meets the brief.
Evidencing P3 in your blog
P3 Create a pitch to communicate an idea to the client.
Insert the videos you have taken here. You should write about them and what you have learnt, you can also offer some sort of critique to how successful each presentation was. When writing pay particular attention to the following headings:
Your powerpoint for your presentation needs completing and inserting it in your blog (the master document is at the side). Along with your powerpoint you should write about the things you are going to pay attention to when delivering your presentation once again using these headings:
Verbal Communication (how are you going to use this)
Body Language (what are you going to pay attention to)
Structure (this can relate to the powerpoint you will produce)
Presentation Tools (if you want to use something other than powerpoint you can)
